For most of modern finance, a family office meant a private staff: people who wrote investment policy, ran research, kept books shaped, coordinated legal hygiene, and made sure the operating map matched reality. That structure was reserved for elites because headcount is expensive and coordination is hard.

Software changes the cost curve. Specialized agent seats can hold charters, keep boards honest, and ship research products — while humans retain the gates that matter: capital, live trades, privileged legal. The point is not another robo-adviser slideshow. The point is a personal operating system for capital: written policy, research depth, and accountable seats.
